Seeing the details of the Varis widebody kit, I am interested to see what Voltex could potentially do with a widebody kit on the EVO X. The amount of details necessary for a fully functional and aesthetically pleasing aero kit are huge, and it's never an easy job to complete. There are things I don't like about the Varis kit like the exposed rivets, "empty" fender vents, etc. but it's functional and I'm excited to start seeing these pop-up on cars around the globe. I hope Voltex responds with a kit of their own, as Varis has shown us that there is a market and money to be made selling these kits.

I really like the skirt detail. They look really nice.
ReplyDeleteI agree on the empty vents, as well. Might be worth it to put some race mesh there to give it a more completed look.
Also, isn't this kit supposed to work with the 09 kit or something? I read that on a vendor's post on the forums but can't find anything on that. If that's the case, that might be why there are exposed rivets and whatnot.
Agreed, mesh would be fine there.
DeleteYeah, it is. I run the 09 kit myself, although it's the Runduce model, but I think I'm going to sit this one out. Doesn't make sense on a daily driver (for now).

WELL, the deal is that this kit was developed to help compete in big time track competitions. You will appreciate it MOST if you track, plain and simple. This also separates the street from the track stars
ReplyDeleteI told some of the guys, I am NOT that impressed with it. I think it could've been better. The red wheel choice was bad and I let them know. Beyond this, I wouldn't expect TOO much more from Varis. MAYBE a revised kit down the road. They will now focus on other cars like the BRZ, 86, and some surprises in store
BY THE WAY, Uehara-san let me know that this kit was DEFINITELY R&D'd to the max, especially WIND TUNNEL TESTING
So it was R&D'd to the max, but it was also rushed? Like you said in the other post? Which is it? Rushed or properly developed?
DeleteYou are so full of shit....
DeletePaul, you don't know Varis. /end of your bullshit
Rather than being vague, I will tell you that Varis is currently working on the following:
1. FT-86 kit
2. IS-F aero under their new Magnum Opus brand
3. Widebody for GRB STI
4. considering possibly revisiting the idea of a widebody kit for the R35 GT-R, but they're short on fresh ideas for it at the moment
You FORGOT BRZ aero. Ask Uehara about me then, if you are so in the scene.
DeletePaul stfu, cunt
ReplyDeleteI'll suck your moms cunt boy
DeleteMICHAELA, R&D for tracking but the looks are shit, that part was rushed
If they spent that much R&D for tracking purposes then they would've spent enough time to make it look better, too. This is most likely their intended product, and the looks are off because it's adaptable to existing kits.
DeleteWait, that sounded way too logical...let me rephrase.
My HOMIES at VARIS told me that MY ASININE theories and complete LACK of PROOF are CORRECT! CAPITAL LETTERS!
